Hearing reminders are separate from tentative ruling alerts — they are time-based notifications that remind you of an upcoming appearance, not data-based alerts triggered by new information.
Where to configure reminders. Go to Settings, then Notifications, then Hearing Reminders. You will see toggles and time pickers for three reminder types: Day-before reminder (sent at a time you specify on the evening before the hearing), Morning-of reminder (sent at a time you specify on the day of the hearing, separate from the Morning Court Brief), and One-hour reminder (a final push or SMS notification 60 minutes before the scheduled hearing time).
Delivery channels. Reminders can be delivered via email, browser push notification, or SMS. SMS is available on Pro and above plans. To enable SMS reminders, go to Settings, then Account, add your mobile number, and verify it with a one-time code.
Per-hearing customization. If you want a different reminder schedule for a specific hearing, open the hearing in your calendar, click Edit, and scroll to the Reminders section. Per-hearing settings override your global notification defaults for that hearing only.
Shared hearings (Firm plan). On Firm plans, when a hearing is assigned to a matter and team members are added to that matter, each team member receives reminders based on their own personal notification settings, not the originating attorney's settings. This means each attorney controls their own reminder preferences independently.
Calendar sync reminders. If you have connected Google Calendar or Outlook via Settings, then Integrations, CaliforniaCourtIntel will also create a calendar event for each hearing with a default 30-minute reminder in your calendar app. You can adjust this default in your calendar app directly — CaliforniaCourtIntel does not override your calendar app's reminder settings after the initial sync.
