Using AI Chat

Ask any question about any California judge in plain English and get instant, sourced answers.

Updated April 5, 2026AI Features

AI Chat is CaliforniaCourtIntel's conversational interface for judge research. Instead of hunting through a profile manually, you can ask questions in plain English and get immediate, sourced answers grounded in verified court data.

To start a chat session, click the AI Chat button in the left sidebar or press Cmd+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows to open the command palette. You can also initiate a chat directly from any judge profile by clicking the chat bubble icon.

Good questions to ask include: What is Judge Martinez's typical ruling on demurrers? Has Judge Chen ever granted a TRO in a commercial lease dispute? The AI draws on structured profile data, tentative ruling text, and attorney observations to answer.

AI Chat will always show you the sources it used for each answer. Click any source citation to jump directly to the underlying tentative ruling or observation. Always verify AI-generated insights against source material before relying on them professionally.

AI Chat cannot access sealed records or information outside CaliforniaCourtIntel's dataset. It is not a substitute for legal advice. Pro plan users receive 50 AI Chat conversations per month. Firm and Enterprise plans include unlimited access.
