You can cancel or pause your CaliforniaCourtIntel subscription at any time from your billing settings. There are no cancellation fees.
Canceling your subscription. Go to Settings, then Billing, then Cancel Subscription. You will be asked to select a reason (optional). After confirming, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. When the billing period ends, your account automatically downgrades to the Free tier — it is not deleted.
What you keep after canceling. When downgraded to Free, you retain: your account and login, your case history and hearing records, saved judges up to the Free tier limit (5), and any observations you have submitted. Hearings, briefings, and AI Chat history remain accessible in read-only mode. Features above the Free tier limit become inactive but your data is not deleted.
Pausing your subscription. If you want to take a break without losing your Pro or Firm configuration, you can pause billing instead of canceling. A paused subscription keeps your settings, saved judges, and case history intact while stopping new charges. Pausing is available for up to 3 months. Go to Settings, then Billing, then Pause Subscription and select your pause duration.
Downgrading without canceling. To move from Firm to Pro (or Pro to Free) without losing your account, go to Settings, then Billing, then Change Plan and select the lower tier. The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not be refunded for the current period.
Exporting your data before leaving. If you want a full data export before canceling, go to Settings, then Data Export and click Request Data Export. You will receive a ZIP file containing all your data in JSON format within 24 hours.
Reactivating a canceled account. To reactivate, simply log back in after cancellation and go to Settings, then Billing, then Resume Subscription. Your previous configuration (saved judges, hearings, etc.) will be restored.
